Corrections policy

How Nipun News corrects errors, how corrections are shown, and how to report a mistake.

Last updated: · తెలుగులో చదవండి

However careful we are, mistakes happen. Correcting them quickly and openly is our duty.

How to report an error

Send the story link, what is wrong, the correct information and, if possible, evidence (an order, a photograph, an official link) to info@nipunindia.com with the subject "Correction". We acknowledge within 24 hours.

What we do

  • The editor checks with the reporter and the source, normally within two working days.
  • Factual errors (a name, figure, date, place or designation): the story is amended and a "Correction:" note at the end says what changed and when.
  • Typos and grammar: fixed without a note when the meaning is unchanged.
  • A story that is wrong at its core: withdrawn and replaced by a note explaining why. The correction also runs on the app card and in the next e-paper edition.
  • A misleading headline: changed, with a note.

What is not a correction

  • Later developments (an arrest, a verdict, a new announcement) are updates. We add an "Update:" line or write a new story.
  • Disagreements of opinion: where the facts are right but you disagree, we will consider adding your response to the story.

Right of reply

If a story is about you, we will publish your response. Email us with the subject "Right of reply".

Record

Every correction is logged by the editors. Reporters who make repeated errors are retrained.
