AICTE Targets Internships for Another One Crore Students by 2027
· 1 min read
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced a major initiative for professional and technical course students. Through its National Internship Portal, AICTE aims to provide internship opportunities to another one crore students by 2027. The primary objective is to enhance practical skills among students and help them secure better career opportunities.
Depending on the student's skills and company norms, selected candidates can receive a monthly stipend ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh. According to AICTE Chief Coordination Officer Buddha Chandrasekhar, around 83,000 government departments, public sector units, and private companies are registered on the portal.
Since its launch, nearly 4.5 crore students have registered on the portal. Among them, around 79 lakh students have joined internships, and 33 lakh have successfully completed them. Students pursuing engineering and other degree courses, including those from rural areas, can register on the portal free of cost and choose internships in their preferred fields.
